A new bench, complete with plaque, have been installed at Nairnville Park in memory of Walter (Wally) Heatherwick. Wally was one of only two players to date to reach the double of 5000 runs and 500 wickets for Onslow and our clubrooms (Heatherwick Hall) is named after him.

I just read about the Onslow great getting a permanent place at Nairnville Park with a bench and plaque honoring a long-serving club member, showing how community cricket history really matters to local players and supporters. I remembered when I used online Statistics class help during a tricky part of my semester, and having that extra support made a big difference. It makes me think good backing can really lift both learning and community efforts.
